May Board Meeting

Friday News

This is what is currently happening around Magdalena Gardens:

  1. Gate: Our post has been repaired and installed at the Magdalina Drive entrance. In addition, the replacement gate has also been installed. We are still awaiting repairs on the operating motor and push button post. Until then, the gates will remain open. (See pictures below)
  2. Insurance Update: There is a new examiner working for our insurance carrier and they are coordinating an engineering group and an expert building consultant to work alongside our public adjustor. They will be onsite over the next few weeks and will need access to all units to assess the damages. We are sorry for this inconvenience, but this is part of the process to get our claim settled. If you haven’t already, please provide Sherry Danko with keys, codes, or a contact name in order for us to gain entry into your unit. If you have any questions, please call her at Star Hospitality.
  3. Sod: The new sod will be ordered and placed around the property over the next few weeks. Bare spots and eroded areas will be addressed, as well as, some peninsulas that have an abundance of blank areas that currently require mulch. Our goal is to have the sod installed as close to the rainy season as possible in order to prevent it from drying out and dying.
  4. Plants: While doing our walk around last week, there were some plants identified as being too close to our buildings. We will have some of these plants trimmed to keep them from hitting screens and the entrance door canopies. We also noticed some trees that were planted too close to our foundations and the roots may end up causing damage. These will be removed.

End of Season Party Date Correction

Don’t forget that our “End of Season” party will be this Friday, April 28th, beginning at 4 p.m. Bring a dish to pass and a beverage to enjoy. Say goodbye to your neighbors as they head out for the summer!!

Landscape / Gate

Good morning! We received 250 bags of mulch this morning and the remaining 350 bags will be delivered on Friday (time unknown). We will begin spreading mulch tomorrow morning (Wednesday) at 8 a.m. We are looking for additional volunteers for Saturday morning to work with the remaining bags. Please contact a board member or call Sherry Danko if you are available to help. Thank you in advance!!

Because of the volume of mulch we received, we are going to close the West End Drive gates later this afternoon and will open them back up in the morning. We ask that you use the Magdalina Drive entrance/exit.

UPDATE – Landscaping

Mulch has been ordered and will be delivered some time on Tuesday, April 25th. Because we are not sure about the time, we are asking that everyone, who wants to volunteer, meet at the West End Drive gate at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26th. If you have a rake or wheelbarrow, please bring it along. We thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!

Volunteers Needed!

As discussed at the board meeting, we are looking for volunteers to help spread mulch around the outside fence line of Magdalena Gardens and outside of both entrances. If you are able to help, please contact David or Sherry Danko to add your name to the list of volunteers. We are trying to get this done before everyone heads out for the summer. Please let us know your availability ASAP and thank you for your help!

It was brought to our attention that some owners are contacting our vendors directly to ask for services. All work performed, by our vendors (ie: landscaping, pool maintenance, etc.), must be approved by our board and our property manager.
