Board meeting minutes are available for your review. These are located under the Residents tab.

1. Three teams of inspectors completed the inspections of all units. This included windows, sliders, doors, interior walls, ceilings, roofs, and exteriors of all buildings. We would like to thank our unit owners and renters for allowing these inspectors access. We had 100% participation. These inspections get us one step closer to resolving our insurance claim for the damage we received by Hurricane Ian back in September.
2. The gates have all been repaired and are functional. We are still waiting on some caps and a keypad cover. The gates will be closed for the summer and you will need to enter the key code, or use your remote to open the gates to enter Magdalena Gardens. You don’t need either to leave, as the gates automatically open upon exit.

Here are a few items that we wanted to pass along to our owners and renters:

1. Private Event – On Sunday, May 28th, one of our owners has reserved the Cabana for a private event between 4 and 8 p.m.. The bathrooms and pool are open to our owners and renters during this time, but please be respectful. Also, the grill will be in use for the event and will not be available.
2. Grill – It has come to our attention that the grill was recently used and food was left on it. Please remove food from the grill and make sure it is clean and ready for use by others.
3. Refrigerator – Just a reminder that all food and alcohol must be removed from the refrigerator when leaving the pool/cabana area.
4. Meeting – The Board of Directors met on the 16th and we were joined by a Kyle Herring from Strategic Claims Consultants. In summary, BSC Forensics will be coming through to address windows and sliding doors and Loyocana Fountain Group will be looking at our roofs, interior walls, and water damage. BSC has already been onsite with their drones and further inspections will be arranged for the beginning of June. A date to be determined. You will be asked to provide access to your unit(s). If you haven’t already, please provide access information to Sherry Danko at Star Hospitality.

The City of Punta Gorda has issued a warning about coyote sightings. Please read the following, released by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the University of Florida. These are their tips for coexisting with coyotes.

• First and foremost, do not attempt to touch or feed a coyote;
• They can attack pets, so keep a watchful eye on your dog or cat if it is outdoors and keep them on a leash;
• Yell or throw rocks to scare it away. As with bears, a small portable air horn or whistle works great at scaring coyotes away. Remember to make a lot of noise if you encounter a coyote;
• Don’t leave pet food and garbage outdoors;
• Don’t turn your back on a coyote, ignore it or run away;
• Never move towards it, or corner it where it can’t run away; and
• If you come across a coyote and feel it is a threat, please call the Punta Gorda Police Department at (941) 639-4111 or 911 if it is an emergency.
